Jennifer Leech, Ingleside Dairy Farm
Lexington, VA
Barn: 540-463-1944
I was born and raised on my family's dairy farm, Ingleside Dairy Farm, in Rockbridge County. I grew up with small responsibilities and actually started getting paid in middle school. I was involved in 4-H, FFA, and dairy promotion throughout my youth. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Dairy Science in 2006. Since then I have continued working on my family's farm with my parents and brother. My responsibilities include herd health, labor management, and financial book keeping. The farm has grown in the past 12 years to accommodate the return of my brother and I. We now milk about 320 Holsteins and grow crops like corn, soybeans, and hay. We utilize technology like robotic milkers and automatic calf feeders to help us produce a quality product as efficiently as possible. I am a member of the second class of VALOR fellows (Virginia Agriculture Leaders Obtaining Results) and a coordinator for the Virginia Dairy Princess Program.
