You Can Be a (Virtual) Farmer!

Are you a parent looking for an animated game for your kids that actually has some educational value?  A teacher who would like to incorporate some agriculture into your curriculum, but don’t have the ability to take your students out to the farm?  Or maybe you’re someone who would like to learn a little more about agriculture from a first-hand perspective, but don’t have the time or the resources to travel to farms across the country?

Thanks to the combined contributions of several different agriculture groups, including National FFA Organization, Agriculture in the Classroom, and others (you can see the whole group here), there is a new game app that allows the players to become virtual farmers who make the decisions on what crops to plant, how to care for those crops, and even how they market those crops!  Agriculture experts and farmers across North America provide insights into what is happening on their farms and different agricultural practices used.

This free game challenges players to feed over 9 billion people in the year 2050 while balancing economics, social and environmental sustainability – which is no easy task!  To learn more about this game, which contains no ads and does not require any in app purchases, visit http://www.farmers2050.com/.  Happy farming!

Your good knowledge and kindness in playing with all the pieces were very useful.
I don’t know what I would have done if I had not encountered such a step like this.
