"You're never too old to learn." Its a popular phrase we've probably all heard at one point...and part of the reason it is so popular is because its true. One of the things that sets Farm Credit apart from other lenders is the emphasis that we place on providing employees with knowledge and information to not only loan money, but also be a resource for our customers. Our employees participate in trainings throughout the year that allow them to expand their knowledge of agriculture and the challenges that producers face so that we can better understand each customer’s unique situation.
The Heat of Summer

Ahhh, summer time. A time for kids to kick back, relax, sleep in and recharge for the next school year. That is, unless you are a farm, FFA or 4-H kid. For those youth involved in agriculture, the summer can be a very busy time. Any youth with livestock projects for their county or state fairs are busy feeding, washing, caring and working with their animals every day. Those livestock projects depend on their owners for their care, no matter how hot it may be or if a thunderstorm has rolled in. Added to that, many youth participate in several different shows which may include regional and national shows, on top of county fairs, which start in Mid-July.

Whether for humans or animals, vaccinations can be a hot topic of discussion. There are many known diseases, potentially deadly, that are nearly completely preventable if a person or animal is properly vaccinated. One of the bloggers on Ask the Farmers shared a great post about why she and her family vaccinate cattle on their farm.
