Last week was National 4-H week. For many, when they think of 4-H, they think of showing livestock; and that is a part of what 4-H is about. But 4-H is also about so much more than showing a livestock project at a county fair.
4-H has been around for more than 100 years. At its core, 4-H is focused on, surprise, 4 “h’s” – head, heart, hands and health. For those of you who may not have grown up in 4-H, the pledge is below:
“I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heat to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world.”
